How it Works
Metal roofing is installed using a very distinct process. Proper installation is critical for metal tile roofing because it ensures a tight seal and lasting results. Choosing a qualified installer is just as important as choosing your brand and type of metal roofing.
When installing metal roofing, large sheets of metal tiles are installed over wood strapping. The wood strapping acts as a secondary frame to support the metal tiles; however, its primary purpose is to provide a full deck ventilation, which is 2-3 times more efficient than traditional roof vents. Another great benefit of the strapping is that it creates an additional air pocket to ensure better sound proofing. The metal sheets have at least 3-4” overlap for a perfect fit and perfect seal every time.
This specific engineering offers several benefits:
- It prevents water from becoming trapped under the roofing, which in turns prevents mold from settling in.
- It provides better insulation thanks to the pocket of air between the metal tiles and your home.
- Larger sheets of metal roofing mean there are less failing points – your roof won’t sag under the weight of snow, water, hail, or anything else Alberta’s weather can throw at it.

If your current roof is in good condition, doesn’t leak and free of mold, we can apply metal roofing over the existing shingles. This will save you the cost of tearing out your old shingles and disposing of them. Ask us how.
